OBD2 Bluetooth Diagnostic Scanner

This scanner plugs directly into a vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port — standard on essentially all vehicles built after the mid-1990s — and pairs over Bluetooth with a companion app on a phone, reading the same diagnostic trouble codes a mechanic's shop scanner would pull, without a separate handheld display.

The app translates raw diagnostic codes into readable descriptions of what triggered the check engine light, and it can clear codes once an issue has been addressed, resetting the dashboard warning light. Live data streaming shows real-time sensor readings from the engine while it runs, useful for more advanced troubleshooting.

The scanner itself is a small plug-in unit with no display of its own — all the interface happens through the app — which keeps the hardware compact and inexpensive while putting the functionality in a more capable, updatable software interface.
